I bought Helios 44m-4 lens. It is old, manual Soviet lens. I have got mine from Etsy from Ukraine.
Today I tried it for the first time with my almost dead zombie aloe vera and i am so excited about it. I can’t wait to have more time to play with it bit more. I wonder if I will be able to create that famous swirly bokeh 😃

It’s a great lens, I shoot mine wide open, and some times with a small extension tube.

I use it on an EOS 500n film camera and an Olympus EPL1 digital. 🙂

thats fantastic. i was thinking of purchasing olympus since it is not too expensive to get used one and i heard it is better for such lenses than dslr cameras

It makes a lovely macro lens on the EPL1, yes they are a bit better than dslr’s, the only downside is the lack of a viewfinder, I bought a VF2 electronic finder for mine, it wasn’t cheap. If you can find an OMD EM5 at a good price it would make good combo.
